I've washed these at least ten times already and the soft, lived-in feel hasn't faded one bit. The knit fabric stretches enough that my son can climb and squat without any pinching, which is exactly what I needed for park days.
The mid-thigh length is perfect for my son who hates anything baggy, and the knit fabric came out of the wash just as soft as day one. He wore them three days straight, which says everything.
The soft knit fabric feels broken in right out of the wash, which my son actually noticed. Only gripe is the waistband runs a bit loose on him, so I sized down on the second pair.
