The French terry is thick enough to survive recess without feeling stiff. My son can pull them on himself thanks to the elastic waist and drawcord, which is a small win on busy mornings.

My son wears these nonstop and the 100% cotton terry is soft right out of the wash without getting scratchy. The elastic waist pulls on fast when he's in a hurry, and the drawcord keeps them from sliding down during recess.

The drawcord actually works, which sounds silly but so many kids' shorts have fake ones. The elastic waist is easy for my toddler to pull up himself, and the cotton terry inside feels thick without being scratchy. Washing them weekly has held up fine so far.
