The UPF 50+ actually held up through six hours in the sun and my son never once complained about the waistband digging in. The mesh liner dries fast too, which mattered since he was in and out of the waves all afternoon.
Wore these for a full beach day and the mesh liner kept everything comfortable even after getting soaked and drying off a few times. The elastic waist with the drawcord stayed put during body surfing, which surprised me since most trunks ride up. Drawings are fun too, my kid picked them out himself.
